Micro finance is being accredited as the most effective tool for poverty alleviation. Women are no longer considered passive recipients of society but are seen as agents of social change. Micro finance can become meaningful only if social empowerment happens and realities like discrimination, domestic violence, child marriage, sexual abuse and economic exploitation by moneylenders are eradicated.
